Chile was chosen as the host country for the free meeting that will bring together 350 people on September 3
Considered a reference in Latin America, the Analitica Congress, which is held at the region’s main analytical chemistry industry event in São Paulo, is now taking on a new look. The event’s qualified content will be presented in Chile at the first Analitica Road Show. The idea behind NürnbergMesse Brasil, which organizes Analitica Latin America every two years at São Paulo Expo, is to promote a debate on the segment in the year in which the event is not held. This is a way of promoting the subject and updating the market while the big meeting is awaited.
Analitica Latin America is a trade show that brings together professionals, companies and organizations involved in the field of chemical, instrumental, laboratory and quality control analysis. The Congress debates topics related to the food, pharmaceutical, fuel, alternative energy and green chemistry markets.
The first edition of the road show, which will cover all these topics, will be held on September 3 in Santiago, Chile, and is expected to bring together more than 350 participants free of charge. “Chile has strong potential for mining, agriculture and green hydrogen,” explains Nadja Bento, director of the Life Science portfolio at NürnbergMesse Brasil. The group conducted a survey with more than 20 companies in the segment to understand the relevance of the topic “analytical chemistry” in Latin America. And they realized that there was room for the event.
The Chilean green hydrogen (H2V) sector, for example, is one of those that has benefited most from the development of analytical chemistry. Although the country currently derives 68% of its energy from fossil fuels, it is already organizing itself to be one of the nations leading the energy transition. In 2020, Chile launched a government strategy with specific goals for the sector, such as producing the cheapest H2V on the planet by 2030. This should have a direct impact on mining and agriculture in the region, due to its capacity to supply clean energy.
Among the names confirmed at the Analitica Road Show is Lucia Mascaro, professor at the Federal University of São Carlos, who will address precisely how Low Carbon Hydrogen can be one of the paths to a sustainable planet.
Ana Rita Nogueira, a scientific researcher at Embrapa, will give a lecture on analytical chemistry in agriculture and present cases focused on the development of analytical methods using spectroscopic techniques – which study the interaction between matter and radiation – applied to agronomic samples, such as soil, fertilizers and food.
In addition, Prof. Thiago Paixão, from the Chemistry Institute of the University of São Paulo, will discuss new trends in the manufacture of low-cost, sustainable chemical sensors, focusing on innovative methods such as laser printing, 3D printing and inkjet printing. The same panel will also discuss new manufacturing processes that seek analytical efficiency, sustainability and cost reduction.
Pedro Layton, sales director at SaaS Latam; Felipe Villalobos, Jamileth More and Soledad Riquelme, specialists at PerkinElmer; and Claudia Papic Illanes, executive vice president of the National Chamber of Laboratories, are other names confirmed for the event.
