NürnbergMesse Brasil (NMB), Latin America’s third-largest producer of business events, and YONTEX, a German company specialized in organizing international trade fairs and events for the beverage industry, held an event on Thursday night (10) in São Paulo for the official launch of drink technology Brasil (dtB). Known internationally as drinktec, the event already has well-established editions in Germany and now joins the national calendar at a strategic moment for the sector.

The launch, held at a renowned restaurant in São Paulo, brought together key market players and revealed more details about the fair – which will take place from September 21 to 23, 2027, at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo. Organizers expect the event to bring together more than 150 exhibitors from 10 different countries, across an area of 15,000 m². Tailored to the Brazilian market, the South American edition builds on the experience gained from the successful launch of drink technology India.

Together, NMB and YONTEX are creating a platform for manufacturers, suppliers and providers of machinery, equipment and inputs covering the entire value chain of beverage and liquid food production. The new event will be held every two years and is expected to become a regular meeting point for the industry in South America, bringing together the continent’s leading buyers in a dedicated environment for networking, knowledge-sharing and, above all, business.

A booming market

The event presented relevant data on the importance of the sector and Brazil’s relevance on the global stage, as one of the world’s leading markets for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The country is the sixth-largest beverage consumer and, at the same time, ranks among the top 5 global producers, holding the position of the world’s third-largest beer producer. The domestic market also includes other significant segments, such as spirits, wines and other alcoholic beverages. In 2025, national exports of machinery and equipment for food and beverage processing and packaging totaled 307 million euros, a record figure for the past 10 years.

But drink technology Brasil won’t focus on numbers alone. The goal is to address shifting market demands, capitalizing on rising trends such as sustainable packaging and non-alcoholic, functional, low-calorie, plant-based and premium beverages. Analysts project that the functional drinks market alone will grow at an average annual rate of 8.75% between 2025 and 2030, driving investment across the entire production chain.

To meet this demand, dtB will be more than a trade fair: it will be a platform designed for the development of the sector, covering the entire beverage and liquid food production process, from formula to shelf. The event will bring together representatives from ingredients and raw materials, processing and production, filling and packaging, automation and digitalization, quality control, labeling and coding, and logistics and supply chain.

The target audience includes manufacturers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, such as breweries, soft drink producers, water bottlers, juice manufacturers and spirits producers, as well as suppliers of ready-to-drink and functional beverages. Visitors are expected from all Brazilian states and Latin American countries, representing liquid food producers, importers, exporters, brand owners and co-packers – companies that produce, fill and/or package products for other brands under contract.

In addition to showcasing technologies and solutions, the program will feature technical content, debates, lectures and presentations on the main challenges and prospects for the beverage industry in Latin America, fostering an environment for knowledge exchange and professional development across the entire production chain.
