Held annually in Shanghai, China, SNEC will be held in Latin America from 2026 onwards
The latest innovations in technology, products, services and solutions for photovoltaic solar energy are presented every year in China at SNEC, the sector’s largest and most important event, which has been attracting exhibitors and visitors from all over the world since 2007. For the 2025 edition, however, there is something new: the announcement of a new address. From next year, SNEC PV & ES LATAM will arrive in Brazil, focusing on the main players in the Latin American market.
“We are very happy to bring to life this important milestone that symbolizes our commitment to advancing the global transition to clean energy. Latin America, especially Brazil, represents one of the most promising markets for the development of photovoltaics and energy storage,” said Madame Mi Yue, founder of SNEC. According to the executive, this new platform will allow Chinese and international companies to strengthen their presence in the region, promote collaboration across borders and contribute to building a more sustainable, low-carbon future.

The fair will be organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil, one of the country’s largest event promoters, in partnership with Oakstream, which operates in the marketing and services of renewable energy. Representatives from both companies personally traveled to Shanghai to take part in the official launch of the event. On Oakstream’s side, the company’s CEO, Sergio R Carvalho, was present. From NürnbergMesse Brasil were CEO João Paulo Picolo and Alexandre Brown, Construction Portfolio Director.
“NürnbergMesse Brasil has been investing more and more to bring new events to its portfolio, from different segments. This is because one of our objectives is to help develop the national industry and the country’s relevance in foreign markets. The partnership with SNEC helps us on this path,” says Picolo. Investments in the solar energy sector exceeded R$200 billion in Brazil last year, according to the Brazilian Photovoltaic Energy Association. “In other words,
it’s a booming market that creates jobs and also contributes to the energy transition, which is another pillar we’re very committed to,” he adds
Brazil was chosen to host the Latam edition of the event because of its importance in the sector. According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Brazil ranks 6th globally in photovoltaic solar energy generation. It is second only to powerhouses such as China, the United States, India, Japan and Germany.
“Brazil has already established itself as one of the world’s leading markets in this area. Bringing a fair like SNEC to the country is recognition of our potential. It’s also a unique opportunity to attract investment, foster innovation and strengthen the entire Latin American production chain,” explains Sergio R Carvalho.
In the 2024 edition alone, SNEC welcomed exhibitors from 95 countries. “This shows how the topic is on the rise all over the world. We’re sure that important names from Latin America, who might not have attended the meeting because of the distance, will be able to join us now, contributing to a more sustainable, cleaner energy future,” adds Alexandre Brown.
Every year, SNEC Shanghai brings together more than 3,000 exhibitors in an area of almost 400,000 square meters. More than 300,000 visitors come to see advances in energy production and storage, electric mobility, inverters, high-efficiency photovoltaic modules, battery banks for solar energy systems, among other state-of-the-art technologies.
The first edition of the event in Brazil will be held between March 17 and 19, 2026, in the Anhembi District, in São Paulo. As in China, the aim is to present industry trends to an audience made up of manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, service providers, authorities, scholars, builders, contractors and architects.
